Certified Door and Window Installations

I am Certified by Installation Masters Institute (#700002763) and recognized by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (They set the National standards for security, performance and efficiency for doors and windows.)

Choosing What Is Right for Your Needs

The world we live in is not the same as the one we lived in 20, 30 or 40 years ago. The events in the news around the world effects each individual in a profound way. We are reeling, looking for relief, wondering "What can I do?" It is for this reason New Doors and Windows are an excellent value. I mention Some of the reasons below.

Most People take the front door or windows for granted. If they lock at night they have done their job and that's that. There is more to it. Consider this. New Doors and Windows add beauty, savings, a comfortable living environment and increase the equity of your home.

Do you Work or Entertain clients at your house? The front door is the first thing someone will meet before they meet you. You only have one first impression.

Do you have a home office, nursery or entertainment/media room? How many times have you told the kids to be quiet I am on a Conference call? You have spent thousands on your entertainment system, yet you still hear the dishwasher running in the kitchen. How annoying is it, when the peace and tranquility of your child's nursery is interrupted every time a truck passes by. Doors and Windows can be ordered with various options to improve noise reduction and improve you quality of living.

Energy Efficient Doors and Windows will help you get a handle on your energy bills. Gas and Electricity are not cheap, and with the cost of gasoline going up almost daily, today, people are looking everywhere to save a buck. Getting rid of those drafty doors and windows is a good place to start.

Speaking about saving money, have you wondered why some furniture is faded and others are not. You spend thousands on carpeting and you have a big faded spot in front of your window. All of these issues can be addressed.

Installing new Doors and Windows is a quick way to give your home a face lift and increase curb appeal. This translates into equity which in most cases offsets the investment made in the windows. In these uncertain times many people have lost equity in their homes. So this may not apply to those individuals.

Specialties

We specialize in Door Installations, Window Installations and Custom Glass Doors and Windows. If it is out of the ordinary, I am the one you want. Most contractors and handymen are looking for the easy buck. I have no wish to compete with those people.

Custom leaded glass and custom etched glass. We can design and install your custom decorative glass design into your existing door or window or I can order a new decorative entry door system. Custom glass is a way to add beauty, privacy, function and elegance to your front entry or a special cozy nook or an intimate bath or spa in you master bathroom. (See Below) We can also etch your company logo into glass for your office door or window.

Cut-Downs: Put a door where there once was a window. (See Below) If you have a room that you want to put a door in, many times it is possible to cut out the window and put a door or Patio door there. We have cut out walls to put a door in even when there was no window.

I have installed Doggie-Doors at times when all people have gotten was "it can't be done." I have even put them into sliding patio doors.

Custom is just another word for Challenge. I can do it. If I can't do it can't be done. My competitors are really not my competitors. They don't want to do custom. They want it easy. They don't want to compete with me and that is fine with me.

That doesn't mean you can't find someone who will under cut someone else's bid. Turn and Burn, blow and go, slam and jam, it just means take the money and run. That is not my style.

Knowledgeable

I know my limitations. This is important. I am a "Get it done" Guy, I am not a ÔNo Problem" guy. What's the difference?

A "Get it done" Guy knows what he is getting into and is ready for contingencies. I don't like getting surprised in the middle of a job to find out it wasn't in the bid. If I do a cut-down and I have to move a wire that is doable. If I do a cut-down and have to move a breaker box that is a different story.

A "No Problem" Guy just wants to get the job and the down payment and worry about the details later. When the problem arises you are at a disadvantage. That is no way to do business.

Using my experience and knowledge I may often have a quote listing items and labor you would not see on other quotes. Often I am expecting the unforeseen. A customer wants to hear that his job is standard or there are no complications, because, anything out of the ordinary sounds like "more money."

Here is an example. I had quoted a customer, actually a friend of mine. My quote was $500.00 more than the average quote. I knew there would be wiring and an about a 70 percent chance of other complications in the wall. Yet all the quotes that the "No Problem" Guys gave did not mention these problems. One even insisted that there was no wire under that window. The wife overruled the husband, (in this case). I assured them I had no hard feelings. When I followed up with him, it turns out they spent $250.00 more than my bid.

Here is the problem. It seems that when you have a huge hole in the wall and someone says, "That wasn't in the bid" and you read the contract and find the clause dealing with hidden damages or obstructions, you find they have you over a barrel and you really don't have time to shop around. That is the disadvantage I was referring to above.

Just for the record we are still buddies. It happens to everyone at one point or another, I am no exception. I am not into "I told you so." It doesn't do anybody good. It is best to just learn and move on.

I am sure if you ask your family and friends or work mates you will get a couple of stories similar to this.

Experienced Installations

My experience has provided me with an intimate knowledge of doors and windows. I have been installing doors and windows 8 years professionally. Prior to that, I sold doors and windows since 1993. In the mid to late eighties I was a service manager for a Home/Management company. I will not say "I have seen it all", because it sounds to egotistical. Quite frankly to this day some people still throw me a curve ball. I can handle anything that you throw my way and make it look great.

Customer Service

I stand behind everything I do for one year. I am not here to compete with the Home Depots, fly by nights and all of the other people that will over promise and under deliver. Most of them are in it for the easy or quick money.

I want give you exactly what you want or as close to it as possible. Why should you settle for something you had not asked for. Some people will try to get you to change you mind or settle on something different, say it can't be done or even refuse the job in some cases. We have gone over this already. There are going to be those people that rush through, take short cuts, use cheaper or different materials or just omit things to save a buck.

If the job is not what you expect, why do it? This is just a generalization and there are a lot of good people out there that do good work. It is only a small percentage of people that make up all the horror stories.

Quality

I wrap the studs in addition to applying flashing around the doors and window. I install a flashing pan when ever possible. In cases where a flashing pan can't be installed, I form a flexible flashing pan. Most people get a door and don't know that it affects things around it.

If a little moisture wicks-in it can wreak havoc, especially if you have a wooden floor. Something as simple as a flashing pan can have a big effect on your floor. While I can't speak for other installers, I can say there is no reason not to do these two basic but important things.

How about a quiet office space or nursery. You have a beautiful entertainment system and you can hear the dishwasher in the other room or the trucks driving by on the street. On your next conference call are you worried that your client will hear the kids down the hall or the washing machine running?

Did you know you can get windows with different levels of sound proofing? Get rid of those hollow doors. Put a solid door in your office or even better, an exterior door is tighter. We need to go over your needs, applications and budget to choose what is best for you. Tints should stop the fading. Yes, But did you know you can reduce the fading with out having a gloomy house. You can let the sun in and have your carpet too.
